Coffee or Cocktails?

What will it be, coffee or cocktails? Why not make it both! Coffee makes the perfect mixer.
Enjoy a hot coffee cocktail on a cold winter night or a cold coffee cocktail on a warm summer’s eve.
The secret to a great coffee cocktail is in the quality of the coffee. If you have Lavazza coffee pods and a free Lavazza espresso machine from Blue Pod Coffee Company, half the job is done. Now all you have to do is add the spirits and maybe a dash of this and that and you’re done. These coffee cocktails are as easy to make as a perfect espresso (if you have a Lavazza coffee machine) and will make you look like a professional bartender and barista rolled into one:
Arguably more popular than beer on the ski slopes of the Snowy Mountains, an Irish Coffee is the perfect way to ward off the winter chill and celebrate at the same time. When the temperature dips, an Irish coffee is everybody’s favourite cocktail and it’s so easy to make. This is all you need:
- 1 ½ oz. Irish whiskey
- 6 oz. hot Lavazza espresso
- 1 tsp. brown sugar
- Dollop of heavy cream
Just combine the whiskey, coffee and brown sugar and top with cold heavy cream. The only trick to it is to float the cream on top rather than mix it with the other ingredients. Just use a spoon to gently lay it on top.
A Night in Florida
If you like liqueurs and love coffee, then enjoy a Night in Florida. No, you don’t need to hop on a plane to Miami, you can enjoy this guaranteed conversation starter on the Gold Coast, in Bondi Beach or any place you’re having a party. This is how to make one, but beware; the orders will start coming thick and fast:
- ¾ cup hot Lavazza coffee
- 1 ½ tsp. Kahlua
- 1 ½ tsp. Frangelico
- 1 ½ tsp. Grand Marnier
- 1 ½ tsp. Bailey’s Irish Cream
First mix the liqueurs together and then add them to your Lavazza coffee. Top with an optional dollop of whipped cream for an added touch of cheer.
Wine Coffee Froth
Here’s one that solves the dilemma of whether to serve coffee or a dessert wine with dessert. Do both at the same time with a Wine Coffee Froth and your guests will be begging you for the recipe after their first sip. These are the ingredients you need to serve 2:
- 1 cup Lavazza coffee (our Rainforest Alliance coffee pods are perfect for this recipe)
- 2 oz. Muscatel wine
- 2 tsp. sugar
- ½ tsp. grated orange peel
- Pinch of cinnamon
Whip all the ingredients together until smooth and foamy. Pour over ice and be surprisingly refreshed. This unusual coffee and wine cocktail is a perfect complement to the classic Italian coffee flavoured dessert, tiramisu.
When you get your free Lavazza espresso machine with your first Bluepod Coffee Company Lavazza coffee pod order, you get more than just a coffee machine; you get a new kitchen and bar appliance as well.
